Jones County residents gathered at a farm on Stewart Farm Road to express their opposition to the Crooked Creek Technology Park ahead of a public hearing by the Planning and Zoning committee.
"I'm pretty darn sure we're going to get this thing stopped,"
said activist Alex Lefholz, sparking applause from the crowd. Lefholz has been working to enact Georgia's "Home Rule" act, which would allow citizens to vote on the data center.
