Mysterious Signal from SpaceX Satellites
A classified network of SpaceX satellites, known as Starshield satellites, has been found to be emitting a mysterious signal.
An amateur satellite tracker in Canada, Scott Tilley, discovered the signal, which is coming from a "hidden" part of the radio spectrum.
The use of those frequencies to "downlink" data runs counter to standards set by the International Telecommunication Union, a United Nations agency that seeks to coordinate the use of radio spectrum globally.
The signal has the potential to interfere with other scientific and commercial satellites, according to Tilley.
The Starshield satellite network is a constellation of classified defense satellites built by SpaceX, and the unusual transmissions may violate international standards.
