New Canadian Border Guards Announced
The federal government has announced a series of new measures to boost Canadian border security, including the hiring of 1,000 new Canada Border Service Agency (CBSA) officers.
Prime Minister Mark Carney announced the new measures, which will be part of the upcoming federal budget, at an event in Niagara Falls, Ont. on Friday.

Two Metro Vancouver Liberal MPs, Minister of Veterans Affairs Jill McKnight and South Surrey-White Rock MP Ernie Klassen, were on hand at Peace Arch border crossing in South Surrey to discuss the new measures.
The hiring of 1,000 new border guards is a key part of the government's plan to enhance border security.
