Vice President Kashim Shettima has called on state governments and sub-national officials to explore economic opportunities in intra-African trade, focusing on the African Continental Free Trade Agreement (AFCTA).
Speaking at an event in Abuja, Shettima noted that intra-African trade currently stands at 17 per cent, a declining status he urged stakeholders to address.

The event, themed "Facilitating Intra-African Trade and Investment: Unlocking the Potential of African Direct Investments and Foreign Direct Investments for Sustainable Growth," was organized by the Presidential Enabling Business Environment Council (PEBEC), Nigeria Governors Forum, Afreximbank, and WoodHall Capital.
