Sunday Trading: Better Abolished than Relaxed

Recently, the Government considered increasing Sunday trading hours, allegedly to appease large businesses facing a tax hike.

However, after public outcry, the Government indicated it was merely "flying a kite" to gauge opinions, and not seriously considering the change.

The current rules remain in place, limiting large retailers and supermarkets to six consecutive hours of operation on Sundays.

As Christians, we believe a day of rest is beneficial and should not be compulsory on Sundays.
