Mother of Kildare Man Who Died by Suicide Emphasises Need for Change
Noeleen Eustace, a mother from County Kildare, is calling on the government to prioritise carers who assist those with disabilities and mental health issues.
She has launched a petition, 'Kelvin's Amendment', in memory of her late son, Kelvin Brennan, who died by suicide in May.
Dual Diagnosis refers to when a person has both a mental health disorder and a substance use disorder (SUD) at the same time.
The petition, available on Uplift.ie, aims to pressure the government to recognise Dual Diagnosis in the Mental Health Act 2001.
