Marissa Monteith, a junior at Macomb Dakota, has taken the golf scene by storm.
It all began in eighth grade when her parents gave her an ultimatum: if she quit softball, she had to play another school sport.
"My grandpa lives on a golf course and I've played golf for fun growing up. I guess I was pretty good at it, but never really took it seriously,"
recalled Monteith. She tried out for the golf team in high school and the rest is history.
"My parents said there was no way I would just sit around after school and not do anything,"
she added. With her newfound passion, Monteith is making a name for herself in the golf world.
