Northern Chambers Provide 'Clear Roadmap' for Critical Minerals
Northern chambers are urging the federal government to capitalize on the region's critical minerals. The Timmins Chamber of Commerce played a key role in creating a resolution that was adopted at the Canadian Chamber of Commerce's annual general meeting and policy convention.
The resolution, titled 'From Ore to Opportunity: Building Canada's Critical Minerals Advantage', aims to address the challenges hindering Canada's critical minerals sector. According to Timmins Chamber president Mélanie Dufresne,
Canada has the mineral wealth and the expertise to lead in the global transition to clean technologies, but fragmented rules, infrastructure gaps, and workforce shortages continue to hold us back.
Dufresne believes that this policy
provides a clear roadmap to turn Canada's mineral advantage into lasting economic leadership.
