A solicitor with 18 years of experience has been struck off after misleading a divorce client about the progress of her case.
Kathryn Poole, admitted in September 2007, was found to have maintained a pretence for three months that she was awaiting requested information from a pension provider as part of income disclosure requirements.
Her trust in the legal profession is 'broken', said the client.
Poole, a consultant solicitor with Cornwall firm Vingoe Family Law, had failed to apply for the necessary information before a court-imposed deadline.
The Solicitors Disciplinary Tribunal made the decision to strike off Poole.
