Pedro Acosta overcomes an early fall to lead an unpredictable Friday Practice for the 2025 Malaysian MotoGP at Sepang.
The KTM rider headed Honda’s Johann Zarco, Pramac Yamaha’s Jack Miller, HRC’s Joan Mir and Monster Yamaha’s Fabio Quartararo as the chequered flag fell.
Among the heavyweight names missing the top ten cut were Marco Bezzecchi, Luca Marini, Francesco Bagnaia, Fermin Aldeguer and Brad Binder, sending them into Saturday’s Qualifying 1.
After torrential rain in the closing stages of FP1, the delayed afternoon hour - due to an oil spill in the Asia Talent Cup - began in dry conditions, with riders putting in long runs on soft tyres front and rear.
Rain spots with 25 minutes to go caused a flurry of activity in pit lane, with most riders fitting new tyres early to avoid being caught out.
