Origin of the Name 'Computer'
Tanko Rashid-Computer, Deputy National Elections Director of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), revealed the story behind his nickname in a JoyNews’ Personality Profile interview.
According to Tanko-Computer, the name was given to him by a mathematics teacher who was impressed by his calculative speed and conceptual clarity.
I was the only person who could understand what the lady was doing. So I was more or less like a PA to her.
The nickname originated from his ability to grasp and solve complex problems faster than his peers during a mathematics lesson.
