Demidov's 3 Points Lift Habs to 4-3 Win Over Vancouver Canucks
Rookie sensation Ivan Demidov had a goal and two helpers, leading the visiting Montreal Canadiens to a 4-3 win over the Vancouver Canucks.
- Nick Suzuki, Juraj Slafkovsky, and Mike Matheson also scored for Montreal (7-3-0).
- Goalie Jakub Dobeš picked up the win in net, making 28 saves.
- Forward Elias Pettersson, Jake DeBrusk, and Conor Garland replied for Vancouver (4-5-0).
Pettersson opened the scoring 4:42 into the first period, converting a nice return pass from Filip Hronek for his second goal of the season.
Captain Quinn Hughes and Pettersson each dished out a pair of assists, while Kevin Lankinen stopped 20 of 24 shots and took the loss.
The Canucks outshot the Canadiens 11-4 in the first period, despite the Habs having plenty of vocal fans in red jerseys at the game.
