State Street Ballet Dancer Proposes During Romeo and Juliet
A romantic proposal took place at the Granada Theatre in Santa Barbara, California, during the final bow of Romeo and Juliet, performed by the State Street Ballet and the Santa Barbara Symphony.
Ryan Lenkey, a dancer with the State Street Ballet, got down on one knee and proposed to his fellow dancer, Saori Yamashita. Yamashita accepted the proposal, and the two shared a emotional moment on stage.
"Two dreams came true in one weekend and I still feel like I am dreaming," said Yamashita. "We are so over-the-moon and haven't been able to stop smiling all week and now we are going to New York to celebrate," said Lenkey.
The couple, who lives in Santa Barbara, plans to elope in the area next month.
