Making a Difference at a Young Age
Maya Rashid, a 17-year-old high school student, is the founder of Project Celebrate, a nonprofit organization that brings joy to kids in foster care.
Maya's initiative has recruited over 800 teen volunteers and improved the lives of thousands of kids worldwide, collaborating with local governments and the United Nations on youth advocacy.
I first got the inspiration to start Project Celebrate when I was in eighth grade.
Maya's inspiration came from attending a sleepaway camp that offered spots for kids in foster care, where she met her friend Rose.
