30 journalists embody struggle for freely reported environmental coverage

Journalists' Struggle for Environmental Coverage

Thirty journalists face obstacles in reporting on environmental issues, from Cambodia to the Amazon, and from France to Egypt.

Reporters Without Borders (RSF) highlights 30 cases of persecuted journalists who covered environmental stories in the past year, often facing threats, arrest, or violence.

Our goal: to leave no breach of freedom of information unreported.

With COP30 starting on November 10 in Belém, Brazil, RSF urges governments to protect reliable reporting and its actors in the fight against climate change.

RSF publishes daily reports, investigations, and a world press freedom ranking from its 115-country network.

Author's summary: Journalists face persecution for environmental reporting.
