Flyers Send Jett Luchanko Back to Juniors
The Philadelphia Flyers have returned 19-year-old Jett Luchanko to his junior team, Guelph of the OHL, to play more minutes and refine his game.
Due to limited NHL ice time and rules restricting his options, the Flyers opted to send Luchanko back to juniors. The 19-year-old is not allowed to play in the AHL, so he had to choose between playing for the Flyers or returning to his junior team.
The Flyers were in a bit of a pickle with Luchanko.
The team is prioritizing development, and with an abundance of centers ahead of him, there wasn't a spot for Luchanko in the top nine. Despite this, the Flyers wanted to give him an opportunity to earn a spot.
- Luchanko is 19 years old
- He is not allowed to play in the AHL
- He will play for Guelph of the OHL
