Boys Cross Country: Park Rapids Boys Earn Return Trip to State Meet

The Park Rapids boys cross country team qualified for state for the fifth consecutive season and 16th time overall, with a close second place finish at the Section 8A meet.

Head coach Jacob Hutchins expressed confidence in his team's chances, citing their strong performance throughout the season and recent improvements.

We felt the boys had a great chance of making the state meet. We have been running well all season, and we were definitely peaking at the right time.

The team's success was fueled by the return of four runners from last year's section runner-up team, as well as three first-year varsity runners. Hawley took the section title with 48 points, while Park Rapids secured a state berth with 56 points, ahead of Roseau's 133 points.

Individual state berths were also earned by United North Central's Drew Aho and Nevis' Brennyn Ott during the Section 8A meet.
