In 2015, Kevin Rudd was appointed inaugural president of the Asia Society Policy Institute, a self-described “think–do tank” dedicated to resolving policy challenges within Asia and between Asia and the West.
The New York-based institute, founded in 1956 by John D. Rockefeller III, was a welcome opportunity for the former Australian prime minister.
By 2021, Rudd added the titles president and CEO of the Society to his CV.

Rudd attended a Friends of Australia Caucus breakfast at Blair House, Washington, with Anthony Albanese, the morning after their meeting with Donald Trump.
