All Souls' Day Cultural Significance

All Souls' Day in the Church is a day of prayer and remembrance for all the faithful departed.

The Church teaches that our prayers, sacrifices, and offering Masses can help the souls on their journey to eternal peace with God.

According to Missionary Congregation of the Blessed Sacrament Father Joseph Kanatt, it is an act of love, mercy, and solidarity with those who have gone before us.

He emphasized that death is not the end but a passage to new life with God, and that we are connected in Christ – living and dead, with our prayers having real power to help others.

Father Kanatt shared his cultural perspective on All Souls' Day from his native Kerala, in the south of India.
