Orbit Acquires Debut Author Megan Flynn's Post-Apocalyptic Novel
Orbit UK has acquired a "post-apocalyptic, cosy horror" novel from debut author Megan Flynn, titled When the Forest Whispers.
The novel is described as "a unique genre mash-up that balances dark thematic content and elements of horror with a heartwarming story of found family, survival, love and hope at the end of the world".
Scheduled for publication in early 2027, the book tells the story of Remembrance Kingston, a young woman raised by doomsday preppers in the woods, who now lives alone with her dog and the ghosts of her family.
When the Forest Whispers
is part of a two-book deal, acquired by senior commissioning editor Emily Byron from Helen Lane at the Ki Agency.
