Cyber Attacks on the Rise, SMEs Most Vulnerable
Industry experts warn that South African businesses, particularly SMEs, are unprepared for and vulnerable to cyber attacks.
Cyber attacks are growing in sophistication and frequency, with AI-powered threats increasing. Jacques du Toit, CEO of Vox Telecom, highlighted this during an interview at the Vox Cyber Security event in Johannesburg.
“We’re starting to see the speed and intensity of ransomware attacks increasing, while the level of education is actually scary. AI, combined with cyber attacks, is outpacing the ability of the average person to keep up.”
Du Toit emphasized the importance of cyber security awareness, and the event aimed to educate businesses of all sizes on this issue.
