Privacy laws are struggling to keep up with the rise of "luxury surveillance" as seen in Meta's new smart glasses.

It's not clear to me that a small red light would be sufficient notification in some states for someone to consent to being recorded.

These glasses, introduced at Meta Connect, represent the tech industry's second attempt at normalizing wearable surveillance devices, following Google's failed Google Glass.

With this technology, social shaming may be more effective than the law in regulating privacy.
