Waterford native Michael Whelan embarked on a 3,000-kilometre journey from Osh, Kyrgyzstan to Karachi, Pakistan, over the course of two months.
At 69 years old, Michael faced numerous challenges, including freezing temperatures, mountainous ascents, and low oxygen levels.
You just have to slow down. I generally find with younger people they tend to have a target and an itinerary.
He adopted a flexible approach, taking each day as it came, rather than adhering to a strict schedule.
