Breakthrough in Vidarbha City: Infant Receives Life-Saving Stem Cell Transplant

A 9-month-old girl diagnosed with Infant Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL), a highly aggressive and life-threatening blood cancer, underwent a successful T-Cell Replete Haploidentical Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplant (HSCT) at New Era Mother and Child Hospital.

The procedure, performed by Dr. Atish Bakane, Paediatric Hematologist and Bone Marrow Transplant Physician, involved infusing healthy stem cells into the infant's body to restore her blood-forming and immune systems.

The complex bone marrow transplant aimed to strengthen the infant's immunity and combat the life-threatening cancer.
