A US delegation, led by Secretary of War Pete Hegseth, is on an official visit to Vietnam from November 2-3.
On November 2, General Phan Van Giang, Vietnam's Minister of National Defence, hosted a welcome ceremony for Hegseth and his entourage.
Giang emphasized that Hegseth's visit is significant, particularly as it coincides with the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and the US (1995-2025).
The visit aims to strengthen the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership for peace, cooperation, and sustainable development between the two countries, as well as their bilateral defence ties.
