Florida Atlantic men's basketball team secured their first win of the season against Boston College on Monday night, with guard Yohann Sissoko hitting a game-saving three-pointer in overtime to seal the 83-78 victory.
The game was played in front of a sold-out Eleanor R. Baldwin Arena, marking the third time a power conference opponent has visited "The Elly" in four years. Following a 42-point win against Florida Tech, head coach John Jakus and his team were eager to continue their winning streak.
"I don't know that this [game] was pretty, maybe that's just part of it, but what our guys did show is some real fight and resolve," said Jakus.
Jakus expressed his gratitude for the team's perseverance and the fan spirit, which helped them get back in the game when they were struggling. Author's summary: FAU wins first game of season.
