The St. Joseph County Emergency Food Initiative has been re-activated, with the East Race Market in South Bend providing free produce every Tuesday during the shutdown.
No application, registration, or documentation is required to receive the free produce. Individuals in need can simply show up at the market, located on East LaSalle Avenue, to receive the assistance they need.
The Emergency Food Initiative will remain active until SNAP benefits resume.
