Helena candidate McKnight responds to release of highly charged voicemail to Sheehy's office

Helena Candidate Responds to Release of Voicemail

Just a day before Helena's city elections, Senator Tim Sheehy's office reported receiving a threatening voicemail from Haley McKnight, a candidate running for the city commission.

According to Sheehy's office, the voicemail was left on July 1, after the Senate advanced the Republicans' "One Big Bill" that included tighter restrictions on Medicaid.

McKnight said her anger over Sheehy's actions in office was "justifiable rage," although she regrets some of the language used.

Sheehy's office issued a news release, linking to an article from the National Review, which quotes McKnight as saying Sheehy's policies "stripped away health care" for millions of Americans.
