WASHINGTON (TNND) — It is Election Day, and while it is an off-year election, races and ballot measures across the nation still matter to top Democrats and Republicans seeking insight ahead of the 2026 Midterms.
The National News Desk is tracking multiple high-profile races on Tuesday, in states with tight polling and debates over the country's largest issues.
Political Management program director at George Washington University, Todd Belt, said gubernatorial races in Virginia and New Jersey will serve as barometers of how voters feel about President Donald Trump.
Exit surveys are also expected to reveal voters' motivations heading into next year's midterms.
