Louisville 911 Lines Restored After Technical Issues
Louisville Metro 911 lines were temporarily down for about an hour on Thursday due to technical problems. A "Public Safety Alert" was sent to residents' cellphones shortly after 3:30 p.m., advising those needing emergency assistance to call MetroSafe Communications at 502-242-8294.
By 4:40 p.m., authorities confirmed through another alert that the 911 system was fully restored. Louisville Metro Emergency Services requested that people refrain from testing the 911 lines now that normal service has resumed.
