Montgomery, Ala. (WSFA) – A clear and cool night is expected for central and south Alabama, with temperatures dipping into the upper 40s to lower 50s by Friday morning.
Friday will bring a mix of sun, clouds, and isolated showers or thunderstorms. Rain won't be widespread, but where it does appear, it could be heavy. Some storms may produce strong wind gusts in their most intense areas.
"It won’t rain on everyone, in fact the coverage of rain Friday will likely be limited. But, where it DOES rain, it could come down hard and one or two pockets of strong wind could occur in the most intense thunderstorm cores."
Saturday through Saturday night will see a larger cluster of rain and thunderstorms moving across the state. This period also carries a risk of damaging winds in some areas.
After the storms pass, significantly colder air will settle in. Cooler and drier conditions will take hold late Sunday, with daytime highs dropping into the 40s and 50s and overnight lows falling into the 30s early next week.
"We’re giving another First Alert for a significant drop in temperatures next week."
