State Rep. Justin Pearson Announces Run For Congress
Justin Pearson, a 30-year-old state representative, has announced his bid for Congress, challenging veteran Democrat Steve Cohen, a 76-year-old incumbent.
He emphasized his humble beginnings, stating:
“I am not here because I come from privilege. I want you to believe not just in me, but believe in us.”
Pearson gained recognition as one of the Tennessee Three, along with state Rep. Gloria Johnson, for protesting gun violence on the state House floor in 2023, following a tragic school shooting in Nashville.
