Ukrainian forces targeted Russian military logistics in Crimea, causing explosions and fires at several fuel storage sites overnight on 5–6 November.
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine confirmed the strikes, aiming to reduce the enemy’s logistical capacity. Russian Telegram channels reported fires after drone flights above the peninsula.
“Before the fire, drones flew over,” said the Telegram channel Krymskiy Veter, noting explosions around 02:17 local time near a Krymneftesbyt oil depot by Bitumnoye in the Simferopol district.
Other reports noted visible flames in Hvardiyske and near the Simferopol power station.
The Ukrainian Defense Forces hit three fuel and lubricant (PMM) depots in occupied Crimea. One depot in Hvardiyske suffered damage to a tank and tankers at the loading platform. Two other fuel bases in Simferopol caught fire, igniting fuel reservoirs.
“Defense Forces continue to carry out a set of measures to destroy critical elements of the aggressor state’s military-industrial infrastructure on its territory and in the temporarily occupied areas, to deprive the enemy of offensive capabilities,” the General Staff stated.
These strikes are part of an ongoing effort to weaken the military supply chain of the occupying forces in Crimea.
