Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that Russia launched 135 strike drones overnight, targeting energy infrastructure across multiple regions. At least eight people were injured in the Dnipro region during the attacks.
“It was another turbulent night for Ukraine. The Russians attacked our cities with drones – a total of 135 strike UAVs,” Zelenskyy said on Telegram. “Eight people were injured in an attack on the city of Kamianske, a residential building was damaged, along with railway infrastructure.”
Ukraine’s Defense Ministry reported that its air defense units intercepted or suppressed 108 drones launched from Russian regions such as Kursk, Orel, and Primorsko-Akhtarsk.
“Air defense shot down 108 enemy drones in the north, south, and east of the country,” the ministry stated, noting that 27 drones successfully struck 13 different locations.
Russia’s Defense Ministry said its air defense systems intercepted and destroyed 75 Ukrainian drones over regions including Volgograd, Crimea, Voronezh, and Rostov.
Volgograd Region Governor Andrei Bocharov reported a civilian fatality caused by shrapnel after a drone hit a residential building in the city.
“As a result of a terrorist drone attack, balconies were damaged and windows shattered. A civilian was killed,” Bocharov said, adding that debris caused a fire in an industrial zone.
The overnight drone attacks reflect escalating aerial confrontations between Ukraine and Russia, causing casualties and infrastructure damage on both sides.
