Kalispell Angler Terry Krogstad Wins Fall Mack Days
The 2025 Fall Mack Days Fishing Event on Flathead Lake, sponsored by the Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes, concluded Sunday with a total of 19,144 lake trout entries, surpassing last year's 18,414 catches.
A total of 335 anglers participated, with 116 submitting one or more lake trout entries. The event's catches from Monday to Thursday totaled 5,369, while Friday to Sunday accounted for 13,775—both periods showing differences compared to 2024's harvest of 3,811 and 14,603, respectively.
Top Contest Winners
- Jens Gran of Polson won all three Mack Days Bucket of Fish contests, weighing in a total of 93.65 pounds of lake trout.
- Veteran angler Terry Krogstad of Kalispell earned the Top Angler title with 1,206 entries and a 57.83 average over 18 days.
