Canada's Last Imperial Veterans Association Closes
The Imperial Veterans Association in St. Catharines, Canada has closed its doors after 90 years of supporting war veterans.

According to its president, Bill Greenhalgh, the organization was founded in 1935 to provide services and assistance to soldiers who fought for England, as they were not permitted membership in the Royal Canadian Legion at the time.
- The association was the last one of its kind in Canada.
- It was initially formed by soldiers meeting at a house at George and Louisa streets.
- The organization's building has been sold to Royal Canadian Legion Branch 24.
The legacy of the Imperial Veterans Association will come to an end by October, marking the conclusion of its 90-year service to war vets and the community.
