Jamf Training Course Policies

Please keep the following Training Course Policies in mind as you enroll in and attend Jamf Training sessions.

Conduct during Training

Jamf is committed to providing and maintaining a learning environment that is welcoming, engaging and respectful. We welcome questions during the training class, but please try to stay on topic. Please be respectful to the instructors and other attendees. Avoid making comments, either verbally or in a chat, that are racist, sexist, discriminatory, defamatory, obscene, harassing, insulting, hostile or not-safe-for-work (NSFW). If you make such comments or engage in other harassing, inappropriate, or disruptive behavior, Jamf reserves the right to dismiss you from the training or exam, in Jamf’s sole discretion. If Jamf decides to remove you from a class, you will not be able to return to that class and you may be barred from taking future Jamf training courses and exams. In the case of such a dismissal, Jamf’s sole liability will be limited to refunding fees you paid for the class or exam.

Ownership of Training Course Materials

Jamf's training course materials, including the Keynote (“Training Materials”), are Jamf's confidential and proprietary information. Jamf owns all intellectual property rights in the Training Materials. You may only use the Training Materials as required during a Jamf training course and you may not copy, reproduce, distribute, disclose, or publish the Training Materials or use them for any other purpose. You may not alter or remove any proprietary notices or legends contained in or on any of the Training Materials or make them available to any third parties. If you violate this policy, Jamf reserves the right to immediately dismiss you from a training course, bar you from future Jamf training courses and/or deactivate your Organizational and/or Individual Training Passes (if applicable), in addition to any other remedies Jamf may have at law or in equity.

Recording Policy

Recording any part of a Jamf engagement (including screen or audio recording) is strictly prohibited. Sharing, copying, posting images or reproducing the associated Training Materials in any way is prohibited.

Accommodations for Individuals with Disabilities

If you would like to request a special accommodation during the training course and/or the certification exam in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) or other applicable laws within your region or country, please notify Education Services a minimum of twenty (20) business days prior to the first day of the training course to allow for preparations to be made.

Privacy

Jamf respects your privacy and is committed to protecting personal information. We will not use personal information except as allowed by our Privacy Policy, as the same may be changed from time to time.

Enrolling in Training Courses

Payment
Training courses and certification exams offered by Jamf are to be paid in full prior to the first day of the training course. Jamf accepts credit cards, purchase orders (“PO”), and Organizational or Individual Training Passes.

Prerequisites
In an effort to maintain a standard and baseline level of competency, Jamf reserves the right to require attendees to have obtained previous certification(s) to enroll in advanced training courses.

Please note: Reserving a seat for a colleague who does not yet meet the prerequisites is not allowed.

Course Prerequisites

Please check the corresponding course pages for the prerequisites.

Visa Considerations
If you require a visa to attend a training course or certification exam, it is recommended the application be completed 10 to 12 weeks prior to the first day of the course or exam. Visa requirements vary per country. It is your responsibility to research and understand their country's requirements prior to registering for a training course or certification exam. If you do not obtain the required documentation, you will still be held to the cancellation policy as outlined on this page. To request a Visa Invitation letter, please send a written request to Education Services. Invitation letters will be provided only after you are fully enrolled in a training course or certification exam and have paid in full.

Cancellations, Rescheduling and Expiration

Jamf Cancellations
Jamf reserves the right to cancel training courses but strives to notify registrants at least four (4) weeks in advance. Training Passes and individually purchased course seats are valid for one year from purchase date, and you must enroll and complete the course within the one-year purchase window. Any unused individual course seat(s) or unused Training Passes will expire after one year from purchase and will be forfeited.

If Jamf cancels a specific course that you have already registered for, you can choose from the following options:

  1. Request a full refund, if the training course was purchased with a credit card or PO.
  2. Select an alternate, available course of the same training level to attend from the Jamf Nation Store.

Jamf is not liable for any additional fees you incur, such as transportation or accommodation costs, due to Jamf cancelling a course for any reason, including weather or natural disaster-related cancellations.

Customer Cancellation and/or Rescheduling
Course enrollments or certification/retest exams purchased with a credit card or PO are eligible for a full refund if you request to cancel or reschedule at least ten (10) business days prior to the first day of the training course. Customers who do not request to cancel or reschedule their course enrollment or certification/retests exam within that time frame are not eligible for a refund.

If you must cancel due to extenuating circumstances within ten (10) business days prior to the start of the training course or certification/retest exam, Jamf may, at its discretion, allow you to reschedule and attend an alternate course of the same training course level or certification/retest exam if an alternative is available. If this occurs, please reach out to Jamf Training and let us know as soon as possible.

Jamf training course and certification/retest exam enrollments via Organizational and Individual Training Passes are allowed two (2) late cancellations*/no shows** during the term of the Training Pass. A third late cancellation/no show will result in deactivation of the Training Pass.

*Late cancellation - Providing cancellation notice/request to reschedule less than ten (10) business days prior to the start of the training course or certification/retest exam.
**No show - Not present on the first and second days of the training course. You will be removed from the class roster if not present on the first and second days or if you are not present for the certification/retest exam.

You may change the enrolled student for another individual within your organization at any time prior to the start of the training course. Prerequisites apply.

Certification Exam

Jamf offers registered attendees one (1) opportunity to take the associated certification exam.

  • Jamf 200 Course: The Jamf Certified Tech Exam is comprised of multiple-choice and practical tasks, offered on the last day of the course.
  • Jamf 300 Course: The Jamf Certified Admin exam is comprised of three (3) graded scenarios and practical tasks administered on the last day of the course.
  • Jamf 370 Course: The Jamf Certified Endpoint Security Admin exam is comprised of three (3) sections that include multiple-choice and real-world scenarios administered on the last day of the course.
  • Jamf 400 Course: The Jamf Certified Expert exam is comprised of four (4) graded scenarios administered throughout the course.

Jamf allows for the use of notes (handwritten or typed) and online resources during the certification exam. However, any communication - inside or outside of the training space - during the certification exam is strictly prohibited and is grounds for immediate dismissal.

For remote Jamf courses, the camera must be on for the duration of the certification exam.

If you violate this policy, you will be asked to leave the training course and will forfeit your one (1) opportunity to take the certification exam. Any certification that was previously awarded will be rescinded.

Exam Scoring
Upon completion, the certification exam is graded by the instructor. Jamf uses a grading key to maintain a consistent standard. If you have questions about your exam results, you must submit them in writing within fourteen (14) days of the certification exam to Education Services. Jamf does not provide detailed results of questions answered on the exam. Rather, we can provide a breakdown of the exam sections.

Jamf keeps exam results on file for one (1) calendar year from the date of the certification exam.

Exam Results
Jamf will send you an email with your exam results within three (3) business of the exam.

  • Certification exams taken on a Thursday - we will email results no later than end of business the following Tuesday.
  • Certification exams taken on a Friday – we will email results no later than end of business the following Wednesday.

Jamf does not and will not share the results of the certification exam with anyone other than the registered attendee. Jamf will, in response to a written request, share whether you have obtained certification with a third party only if you have given Jamf permission to share that information. Written requests must be submitted to Education Services.

Opt-Out
You are not required to take the exam if you do not wish to seek certification and you may opt out, thereby forfeiting your one (1) opportunity. If you wish to participate in the exam in future, you will need to re-enroll into a future training course.

If you are not present on the last day of the training course, you will automatically be opted-out for the associated certification exam.

Certification Retest Exam
Jamf offers retests for the Jamf Certified Tech exam only.

You are eligible to enroll in a retest exam if you meet all the following criteria:

  • You have taken the full Jamf 200 Course
  • You did not obtain a passing score on the certification exam offered at the end of the training course
  • You have taken the Jamf Certified Tech exam that was offered at the end of the training course

You must enroll and attend a retest exam within 120 calendar days of the last day of the training course.

Jamf Certified Tech retest exams are offered remotely in a variety of time zones once per month.

If you are unsuccessful in obtaining certification after the retest exam, you will need to take the training course again.
