Jennifer Lawrence Shares Ghost Encounters While Filming "Causeway"

During a recent appearance on the "Las Culturistas" podcast with hosts Bowen Yang and Matt Rogers, Academy Award-winning actress Jennifer Lawrence opened up about her eerie experiences while filming the 2022 drama "Causeway" in New Orleans.

Supernatural Events During Production

Lawrence, best known for her roles in "The Hunger Games" and "Silver Linings Playbook," said she encountered several unsettling events in both New Orleans and Charlotte, North Carolina, describing them as "really bad" hauntings.

The Mysterious Hotel Encounter

While filming in New Orleans, Lawrence recalled moving between several places before settling in a hotel. One day, she was lying in bed when she heard a housekeeper enter her room.

“As I got out from under the covers, the housekeeper apologized for waking me and left,”

she recounted. Later, she discovered her hotel door had been deadbolted from the inside, making it impossible for anyone to have entered.

Discussing the experience, she admitted she might have been half-asleep, but added,

“I don't know, I just come from a world where we believe women.”

Other Ghostly Experiences

Lawrence said it wasn’t her first brush with the supernatural in New Orleans. In another house she stayed at during filming, she claimed to have witnessed the kitchen doors repeatedly slamming open and shut while she watched TV alone.
