Remote Jamf 300 Course

Topics:

• Advanced configuration of Jamf Pro including sites and delegated permissions
• Automated and user-initiated enrollment workflows for computers and mobile devices
• Security workflows including FileVault 2, System Extensions and Privacy Preferences Policy Control (PPPC)
• Collection and modification of additional inventory data
• Introduction to the Jamf Pro API and advanced scripting (Bash)
• Advanced packaging and policy deployment workflows
• Complex user environment setup including user-level configuration profiles

What’s Included:

• Four days (9 AM - 5 PM each day) of virtual classroom interaction
• Server infrastructure
• Digital course materials
• The certification process is comprised of three (3) graded scenarios and practical tasks administered during the afternoon on the last day of the course
• Jamf Certified Admin badge on your Jamf Nation profile (upon successfully completing the exam with a passing score)

Prerequisites:

Version 9 certifications will no longer be eligible as prerequisites as of September 1, 2023.

• Earned Jamf Certified Tech or Certified Casper Technician (version 9)
• Previous Jamf Certified Admin or Certified Casper Administrator certification (version 9)
• Basic scripting knowledge including variables and if statements

Customer Requirements:

• A reliable internet connection—capable of receiving 5.0 Mbps and sending 3.0 Mbps
• A test (non-production) Mac with any version of macOS Ventura 13 and a functioning camera
• A test (non-production) iPad with any version of iPadOS 16
• Optional, but highly encouraged: An additional computer (production) or external monitor

Please note: Non-production means that the device or computer can be used for testing in class. The device or computer must not currently be enrolled in any MDM Server, they should be unassigned in Apple Business Manager or School Manager and not in scope of a PreStage enrollment.

macOS Virtual Machines will not work as a substitute for a physical test computer.

If you do not have an iPad, any iOS device can be used. As long as the device is Supervised and capable of running any version of iOS 16. We recommend utilizing a device that is not used for personal or production purposes as it will be used for testing purposes and enrollment into the course Jamf Pro server for completion of tasks. In addition, supervising the device requires the device to be wiped/reset to factory settings.
